They were however vulnerable to small arms fire and fire from the heavier 12.7mm twin mount DShK or 'Sphagin ' machine gun which the adoo used to good effect throughout the war and some Strikemasters experienced very significant damage.
Towards the end of the war the adoo were supplied with the original marque of SAM 7 missiles and then with a newer more capable version with greater range. One Strikemaster was shot down with these.
