RAF Salalah Control Tower
The inclined pipe leading down from the Control Tower balcony into the Comcen building below, was the means of passing or receiving signals via a weighted 'beverage' tin with the side cut out.  It was raised and lowered by cord power and was timed by a series of coded bleeps on the Hadley box to alert the personnel involved.
One fine day, the JENGO (Junior Eng Off) was tasked with deciding how to place a brand new aerial out in the field.  It was a significant structure of impressive dimensions and prompted the concept of becoming an underslung load beneath one of the Hueys.  All went to plan until the load began to spin on the single cable.  The pilot had little option but to release the load which crashed in a twisted pile of debris.
A hasty, improptu celebration was planned for the JENGO, who was invited to occupy a comfortable seat in the Comcen, just beneath the signals pipe.  At the pre-arranged unique 4 bleeps, a large jug of ice cold water was poured into the balcony end, thus initiating a new member, to be known henceforth as SENGO (Soggy Eng Off).
