  It goes without saying that each member of the team had to adapt and vary their established techniques of working to cope with the circumstances in which they found themselves.

Practices were employed that would have been totally unacceptable in the military hospitals that the team members had come from.

 
  Whilst the FST suffered from a lack of adequate equipment that very lack allowed for effective and unsophisticated improvisations which were entirely practical.
 
  The poor supply of such vital supplies such as Hartmans solution was more difficult to circumvent.

Supply of equipment, disposables and drugs was a contentious issue and without question we felt and expressed our opinion that it was wanting.

55FST was the only operational FST at the time and should have had first class supply rather than being the dumping ground for equipment that someone wanted to "write off"
